An institution worthy of the community it serves.
Why this institution was founded. And why Switzerland is not merely a convenient jurisdiction but the specific institutional environment that the Forum's character requires.
· Forum About
An institution worthy of the community it serves.
GACF was founded on a conviction that has not changed since the day the first conversations about its establishment were held. That the world's most serious collectors and capital allocators deserve an institution worthy of them. Not a service provider. Not a conference organiser. Not a membership club that collects fees and sends newsletters. An institution, with the governance, the standards, the intellectual substance, and the long horizon orientation that the word demands.
The Forum is constituted in Switzerland by design. The Swiss legal tradition, precise, reliable, internationally respected, and operating on the long horizon that characterises the best of Swiss institutional culture, provides the framework within which a private institution of GACF's character can operate with the independence and the permanence it requires. The Swiss culture of discretion, not as a professional obligation but as an ingrained institutional value, provides the environment in which the confidential conversations that define the Forum's value can occur with the confidence that they will remain confidential.
Switzerland's specific position in the international financial and cultural landscape, neutral in the geopolitical sense, central in the geographic sense, and trusted in the institutional sense, provides the Forum with the international standing that a community drawn from every major global financial centre requires of its institutional home.
· Mission
A conviction that has not changed.
The most consequential conversations in private capital, the conversations that determine where the most significant capital is positioned, which collectors are acquiring which assets, and how the structural forces of any given era are being interpreted by those most directly exposed to them, are not happening in any public forum. They are happening in private rooms, between individuals who trust each other sufficiently to speak honestly.
The institution that provides those rooms, that maintains the conditions under which that trust can be extended and deepened, and that ensures that the conversations themselves are worthy of the people having them, is providing something that no public institution can replicate.
GACF was founded to be that institution.
